The violent attack, in which the woman’s face was repeatedly smashed to the floor and left her needing jaw surgery, took place in August 2007 at 11:30pm , a half-hour after her professor had left the lab.
The university in its statement of defence struck back with its own claim of negligence. It said the woman failed to keep a “proper lookout” for her own safety and chose not to lock the door of the laboratory. It added that since she was working late, she should have registered with university security.
And for the above statement this University can(and should) expect to get metaphorically raped in court….I wish the victim a happy multimilliondollar settlement.
