Scientology, Fraud and a legal amendment…..

A French court has convicted the Church of Scientology of fraud, but stopped short of banning the group from operating in France.
A Scientology spokesman told the BBC the verdict was "all bark and no bite".

Next time the judge will make sure a big as bite……

The court was unable to impose a ban because of a legal amendment that was passed just before the trial began, preventing the banning of an organisation convicted of fraud.

What a Legal amendment in time of financial crises when fraudulent activities are appearing….must be good news for some….

    WTF?? How’d they manage to get that amendment past the voters?

    Would love to see the speech of the politician who argued that the government just could not go around banning fradulent organisations…only non-fradulent ones (??).

      1. I found out that actually the law (preventing fradulent organisations from being banned) was passed just before the trial, but then repealed during it…since the charges were laid while that law was in place the law applied to them, but presumably the same thing would not be possible for anybody else…..that’s some shady conspiracy shit right there….Wonder if Sarko is a Scientologist or something??
