No State media bias in Sri Lanka…move on…

The State Media story about Liam Fox(Shadow British Foreign Secretary)’s visit to Sri Lanka:

British Shadow Defence Secretary and member of the Conservative Party Liam Fox points out that no foreign country or foreign body should interfere in the legal process in another country.  He points out that foreign influence should not affect the enforcement of the law in a sovereign state. Mr. Fox stated this at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama in Colombo this evening.

The ACTUAL STORY is a bit more like this:

Shadow Defence Secretary and Member of the British Parliament  Liam Fox, yesterday expressed his view that former opposition candidate General Sarath Fonseka be given a civil trial. “It is my strong view that the General should be tried in a civil court where the charges against him can be tested through all the vigor that the law can muster,” Mr. Fox said after a meeting with Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama at the Foreign Ministry.

However the MP explained that no country had the right to pass judgment on the actions of Sri Lanka. “It is not for an outside country or body to say who should or should not be prosecuted. But how trails[sic] are conducted will determine how the country is perceived abroad. The law must not only be applied fairly but it must be seen to be applied fairly,” Fox said.

Rajapaksa supporters who deny media bias are clearly as delusional as the State media hacks writing this crap.
